Learn how to engage every child with reading and incorporate early literacy skills throughout a child’s day from certified educators and professional storytellers.

If you work in a daycare or headstart, you are an important educator early in a child’s life! The Carnegie Library of Homestead is hosting a workshop to help you be a successful teacher in your childcare. learn how to read aloud, pick developmentally appropriate, inclusive books, and engage kids of all ages from expert storyteller Cynthia Battle. Certified PQAS instructor Beth Smeiles will teach you how to take those literacy skills and incorporate them into everyday activities beyond books. Reading Ready Pittsburgh will be providing books for you to take back to your kids so you can start raising smart readers. 

 

May 6th 1-3 PM at Carnegie Library of Homestead with light refreshments and a gift for all attendees. Please register on Eventbrite to attend.
