Pittsburgh Supports Women in Chess: An All-Female Chess Tournament

The Queen's Gambit Chess Institue is a Pittsburgh based nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching chess to the community, ensuring every child has the necessary tools and opportunities to learn the game through a 21st-century approach to education. Chess is a portable classroom that sparks social and educational change.

This event will highlight chess as a means of education and social change. The Queen’s Gambit Chess Institute welcomes all children and community members to come to this event to play chess! The day will have chess lessons taught by youth instructors, chess puzzles to stimulate problem-solving, building chess sets to foster the design and creativity part of chess, opportunities to play female grandmasters from around the world, online notation programming to demonstrate the connection between chess and STEM, and other chess-related activities.
