Our Gallery is LIT!
Join Pittsburgh Glass Center for a virtual trip into our Hodge gallery to see some amazing glowing works of light art in our current exhibition: LIT: Light Transmission.
This exhibition is a survey of the diverse range of light art within the shared medium of both neon and plasma sculpture curated by Percy Echols II, an artist, creator of the podcast “Taming Lighting” and PGC’s first recipient of the Ron Memorial Award for Imagination with Glass. The show features the work of 14 neon and plasma artists.
During the event, you will be guided through some drawing prompts to explore these artworks further together while getting close up to these unique works of glowing glass. Learn the difference between Neon and Plasma and try out some science experiments at home to really explore these exciting gases!
Established in 2001, Pittsburgh Glass Center (PGC) is a nonprofit, public-access education center; an art gallery; a state-of-the-art glass studio; a community builder; and a hub for innovation and creativity. Anyone can take classes, explore the contemporary glass gallery, and watch the live hot glass demonstrations. World-renowned glass artists come here to both create and teach.
We share our passion locally, nationally, and internationally to make the glass art community more diverse, vibrant, and accessible. Our guiding principles of creativity, collaboration, sustainability, diversity and excellence enable us to extend our region’s extraordinary glass legacy far into the future.
