This Tour will provide administrators and teachers with an up-close look at the development and creative redesign of the Central Elementary School Outdoor Learning Lab and Sensory Garden, followed by hands-on exploration of the new Learning Pavilion at Hampton Middle School.
As part of Remake Learning Days 2022, join the Hampton Township School District for an “Innovative Learning Spaces Tour and Discussion”!
This Tour will provide administrators and teachers with an up-close look at the development and creative redesign of two unique learning spaces. The tour will begin at Central Elementary School for an inside look into the design of its Outdoor Learning Lab and Sensory Garden, which was built with next generation science standards and maker-learning activities in mind.
Following the elementary tour, guests will proceed to Hampton Middle School for Computer Science and AP Research student poster presentations and networking over lunch before beginning a hands-on exploration of its new HMS Learning Pavilion, while taking a peek at the Robotics, Wellness and Maker Studios for some great ideas. The Learning Pavilion was built in collaboration with the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University Entertainment Technology Center and includes Augmented Reality features that combine with physical structures and learning tools to offer an engaging mixed reality learning environment.
Spend the day with us to see how these flexible spaces and learning initiatives spark creativity, communication, and critical thinking across the curriculum.
