On May 6, 2021, parents and students will report to the LH High School for a technology and literacy event hosted by our Mini Mighty Mustang program. Students and community members are invited to engage in various, fun activities with their family members. Additional details will be located on our website shortly. Hope to see you there.
The Laurel Highlands Mini Mighty Mustang program continues to expand throughout the community to focus on early childhood literacy. Each year, high school students plan, organize, and lead numerous literacy events for youth in our community. The literacy events provide opportunities for our high school students to be positive mentors for our pre‐K and Kindergarten students. We have distributed over 4,000 FREE books, activities, and built great partnerships with our early childhood providers all in the hopes of inspiring children to see the benefits of reading! We have expanded the program by creating mobile book stops throughout the summer and mail home reading materials to future Mustangs. Our goal is to place even more books in the hands of students and parents in our community. This program would not be possible without several grant providers including Chevron, WQED, IU#1, United Way, The BookStop, Uniontown Library, and numerous pre‐K providers.
We hope to see you at our Tech and Literacy event on May 6, 2021 at the Laurel Highlands High School. Please register on our website at www.lhsd.org.
LOVE IT! LIVE IT! READ IT!
