The Liberty Invitational is the final race of the Kansas ElectroRally season. Students from 15+ regional high schools will race 20+ lightweight, battery-powered electric vehicles, built by students. The goal of an ElectroRally race is to complete the most laps in 1-hr race time.
On Saturday, May 6, MINDDRIVE will host the Liberty Invitational, the third and final race of the Kansas ElectroRally season. Students from 15+ participating regional high schools will race 20+ student designed, student built, battery powered electric vehicles around a racetrack in the Charles Wheeler Downtown Airport parking lot. The goal of an ElectraRally race is to design, build, & race the vehicle that can make the most laps in the one-hour race time.
Throughout the school year and leading up to the ElectroRally season, MINDDRIVE engineering students work in small teams of 4-6 with mentors to design, build, test drive, and ultimately race their vehicles in three total Kansas ElectroRally races.
Electrathon is not your typical race. Nationally recognized Electrathon America sanctions competitions where race teams strive to build the most efficient electric-powered vehicle determined by how many laps each vehicle can complete over one hour with a specified battery configuration. MINDDRIVE students are the only students in Missouri that participate in Electrathon race events. Touchstone Energy ElectroRally East is an umbrella organization in support of over 20 participating Kansas high schools.
There will be 3 heats of races starting at 10:00 am and concluding by 4:00 pm.
