Join us for a 3-evening virtual computer science learning series where participants will engage in a graphics-based computer science curriculum taught in Python. This is part of a program developed by Carnegie Mellon University — and it’s entirely free.
Join STEM innovator Dr. Rich Mackrell for three evenings of Python coding. You will begin by designing simple polygon shapes and quickly advance to programming them to create more complex designs. This session will be held using the virtual Zoom platform.
This series is designed so students can code alongside their parents, guardians, or caregivers. We will use the “pilot and passenger” model, where students and their caregivers will frequently shift responsibility from active coding to offering creative advice. No prior computer science experience is necessary. Participating students are encouraged to ask an adult to help them during these sessions.
