Our 5th graders will engage with inspiring Career Day presenters and visit the Colonial Career and Technical Center for hands-on demonstrations, giving them a firsthand look at the exciting trades and technical paths available in their future!

5th Grade Career Day at CVIS, is an event designed to bridge the gap between the classroom and the professional world. As our 5th graders prepare for their transition into middle grades, this day serves as a pivotal moment to broaden their horizons and showcase the diverse possibilities that await them in the future.

This experience is immersive. Students will take an exciting field trip to the Colonial Career and Technical Center (CCTC) located at the High School. This visit offers a unique “sneak peek” into the specialized trades and technical programming available to them in the coming years. From automotive technology and culinary arts to advanced manufacturing and health sciences, students will move beyond the textbook to experience hands-on demonstrations. They will see firsthand how the skills they are learning now translate into high-demand, high-skill careers.

Back on campus, we have curated a dynamic lineup of guest speakers who are eager to share their “day in the life” stories. This dual approach—combining professional presentations with the tactile environment of the CCTC—is designed to spark curiosity and encourage students to see the direct connection between their education and their future goals. Whether they are interested in engineering a skyscraper, mastering a trade, or starting their own business, Career Day empowers every student to dream big.
