  • This event has passed.

We are a Pittsburgh based non-profit organization dedicated to teaching chess to the community and ensuring every child has the opportunities and tools to learn the game through a 21st-century approach to education. We also lead initiatives to keep Pittsburgh sustainable and innovative for the future using the strategy of chess.

Pittsburgh’s Women in Chess event celebrates the city’s initiatives to support young women and girls in the game of chess. The event will include an all-female chess tournament and a special presentation by one of the country’s leading female chess grandmasters. We ask people to use the following on social media as much as possible before and after the event: #pghsupportswic
Women In Chess is an initiative of the Queen’s Gambit Chess Institute. We envision a world where chess is about equity, innovation, and strategy.
