About this event

Engaging ideas and practices will be modeled by a toddler teacher to show how she uses visuals, art, story telling and creative movement to engage toddlers and their families in virtual circle time.

This session for educators and parents is a glimpse into the playful engagement and joy possible during circle time sessions with toddlers. Modeling techniques and strategies from Briya’s two-generation program’s toddler classroom, teachers will share various ways that they make learning fun and meaningful for children while modeling quality interactions for parents.  This session to re-imagine the early childhood circle time will provoke participants to actively reflect upon the tools for success in supporting parents in creating a playful learning atmosphere for their children at home. Starting with the role of parents in getting children ready to learn, teachers will share videos and other concrete examples of  the various ways read aloud books were connected to guided art experiences and families were encouraged to make props at home to bring the storytelling and learning to life and strengthen the home school learning partnership.
