San Diego State University's College of Engineering Femineer® Program is excited to cohost its 1st virtual Femineer® Summit on May 12, 2021 from 9-10:30am (PST) with our fellow university affiliate partners at Cal Poly Pomona! Attendees will be able to see a showcase of current Femineer® students' Femineer® Creative Robotics, Wearable Technology, or Pi Robotics projects in addition to participate in a Q&A session with inspirational female STEM leaders and industry partners. Our Femineer® Teacher of the Year and the Ellen Ochoa SDSU Femineer® Program Alumna Scholarship awardee will also be announced. The deadline to register is Friday, April 30, 2021.
The Femineer® Program was originally created and funded by Cal Poly Pomona’s College of Engineering in 2013 to inspire additional females to pursue Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in their education and career. SDSU’s College of Engineering adopted the Femineer® Program Fall 2016. The program provides K-12 students with project-based learning, female engineering student mentors, and opportunities to visit a Femineer® affiliate university, while building a sustainable program and community for current and future STEM leaders. Each Spring semester, Femineer® students attend a Femineer® Summit either at a Femineer® affiliate university partner or a district/school. This Spring 2021, SDSU and CPP will be hosting a joint virtual Femineer® Summit on Wednesday, May 12th, 9am-10:30am (PST) and will be opening up spots to K-12 STEM students and educators in addition to current Femineer® students. The summit will consist of a Femineer® student project showcase, inspirational guest speakers, and an interactive Q&A session with empowering female STEM leaders and industry partners.
