STEP UP TO STEAM is a FREE half-day professional development workshop for K-12 teachers who want to learn how to scale up STEAM and Maker Learning initiatives in their districts/organizations.
STEP UP TO STEAM this spring and collaborate with our dynamic team made up of the NCASD STEAM teachers as part of Matt’s Maker Space Professional Development Outreach Program to learn ways that Maker Learning and STEAM education can foster and engage students in authentic experiences centered around the ever important 21st Century skills of creativity, collaboration, invention, and innovation. Participants will engage in two introductory (2) hands-on maker professional development sessions of their choice focusing on the following topics: Introduction to Design Thinking/Maker Learning, Novel Engineering, Computer Assisted Drawing (CAD) & 3D Printing, Laser Engraving, Makey Makey Kits, Hummingbird Robotics, Graphic Design With T-Shirt Printing, and Shieldbot With Arduino Robotics. No experience necessary!
