Allegheny County Housing Authority Provides affordable housing throughout Allegheny County, providing programs and resources to all residents.

The Deborah D. Booker Community Center “Stories Alive!!!” event is entering it’s fourth year with an interactive production of Maya Angelou’s poem “Life Doesn’t Frighten Me”. We will feature art, maker, and youth voice activities for kids and teens. All activities are hands-on, encouraging collaboration and networking between the younger participants and the teens. Activities will include recreating the characters in the poem by making puppets and props, learning the poem and creating and acting out accompanying movements for the presentation. Most importantly, vivid imaginations are encouraged.
