What Defines You?

Hosted by: Pressley Ridge

May 22 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

This is event will be centered on helping youth find their sense of self and what defines them as an individual.

This is event will be centered on helping youth find their sense of self and what defines them as an individual. Support will be offered by professional staff and foster parents of Pressley Ridge. Youth will be educated on the various aspects what makes them who they are as a unique individual. They will have the opportunity to create their own My Intent bracelet, selecting one word that best represents who they are.

Youth can also create a button (pin) that would include a symbol, letters, or short word to go along with their bracelet. There will also be opportunities for children to learn various coping skills to assist with stress management (such as relaxation),  relationship building skills, and self-esteem building activities.

While children are learning and creating, parents have the opportunity to learn about how to support their children in these areas and their own stress management. Our hope is also to provide a level of awareness of the needs of foster youth as well as the need for more foster homes for older youth in the Northside community and through the county.
