Pittsburghers Gregg Behr and Ryan Rydzewski have spent much of the past few years wondering — and talking with fascinating people — about creativity, curiosity and caring. Next month, they’re inviting kids and parents to join in on the fun during a series of “Wonder With Us” events.Behr and Rydzewski, co-authors of the book “When You Wonder, You’re Learning: Mister Rogers’ Enduring Lessons for Raising Creative, Curious, Caring Kids,” are teaming up with Google’s Jane Park for these events (get details here), being held as part of the Remake Learning Days Across America festival.

The authors will be speaking with four compelling creatives:

  • Tues., May 10: Science, Skills & More. Sylvia Acevedo is a rocket scientist (literally) and an entrepreneur who has served as CEO of the Girl Scouts, and is the author of “Path to the Stars.” Jorge Cham is roboticist and researcher of biomimetic design and neural implants. But you’re probably more familiar with his work as a cartoonist and co-creator of the Emmy- nominated PBS series “Elinor Wonders Why.” They will be speaking with Behr and Rydzewski all about STEM learning and wondering about science.
  • Tues., May 17: Music, Making & More. Coy Bowles is a guitarist, keyboardist, singer, and songwriter for the Zac Brown Band. He recently released a children’s album called “Music for Tiny Humans,” and he is a teacher, parent, and author of several children’s books. You and your kids can talk with Coy all about creativity, the arts and the joy of making.
  • Tues., May 24: Drawing, Design, & More. Casey Robin is an illustrator and designer for film, books, toys, and fashion. Currently, she is a designer at Nick Jr./Noggin. Her clients include Walt Disney Animation Studios, Disney Publishing, Goldie Hawn, Breyer Horses and Pinup Girl Clothing. She also teaches and curates gallery shows. Aspiring artists and dedicated doodlers in your family can talk with Casey about her work and about the fun of creating.
