Florida, Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee, and Sarasota counties in the spring of 2024, and we want YOU to be a part of it!

Suncoast Remake Learning Days is a 15-day festival of free events for children and families…think of it as the world’s largest multi-site open house from April 20 to May 4, 2024. The deadline to submit events is February 15, 2024. Be sure to have your event in by that date to participate in this learning festival!

Suncoast Remake Learning Days will build on the assets and strengths of our region, reinforcing the knowledge that Learning Happens Everywhere and affirming that we are working together toward greater outcomes for our children and families.

Suncoast Remake Learning Days events will be organized by learning themes, including the arts, maker spaces, outdoor learning, science, technology, and youth voice. In addition, there will be professional development opportunities for school, out-of-school, child care, and non-traditional educators.

Thanks to the generosity of The Patterson Foundation, these multi-generational hands-on learning experiences will be robust, free, accessible, and open to the public.

The Patterson Foundation

The world moves at the speed of change, and change happens at the speed of trust. The Patterson Foundation believes that philanthropy strengthens the efforts of people, organizations, and communities. Strong communities work together to achieve shared aspirations and can even thrive in the face of adversity.

Rather than having grant cycles or requests for proposals, The Patterson Foundation invests in strengthening communities. Support through the thoughtful use of assets takes time and intention. That is why we focus on helping people engage with each other, providing expertise, encouraging learning, and sharing promising practices.

The Suncoast Campaign for Grade-Level Reading (SCGLR) is a four-county effort in Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee, and Sarasota counties in Florida to help children from birth through 3rd grade, especially those from asset-limited families, succeed in life by ensuring they read on grade level.

We are proud to be part of the more than 390 Campaign for Grade-Level Reading communities in 44 states across the nation and in the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Canada.
The Patterson Foundation is the regional accelerator with county specific work led by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, United Way Suncoast, and United Way of Charlotte County.
