Remake Learning Days
Event Hosts
Remake Learning Days shines a bright spotlight on all the places where kids learn and is called one of the world’s largest open house of learning. Be a part of the festival by hosting an engaging, hands-on learning event for youth and their families.
Be an Event Host!
Event Hosts play a critical part in the success of the festival. In addition to hosting an event, Event Hosts are asked to support marketing and PR for the regional festival (post on social media, hang a poster at your location, opt to be available for press interviews, help take pictures to share, etc.) as well as collect survey feedback from attendees.
RLD events must be submitted no later than February 21, 2025. Once submitted, your event will be reviewed by each region’s lead organizer and you’ll be notified when it has been approved and published to the website.
Who can be an Event Host?
RLD welcomes all types of organizations to be a part of the festival, such as schools, libraries, parks, community centers, museums, companies, small businesses, farms/agriculture, nonprofits and more.
We believe it’s important for families to have access to events so we welcome Event Hosts across many neighborhoods, from rural to suburban to urban communities.
To qualify as an Event Host, you need to be an organization (or affiliated with an organization) and we kindly ask that your event is open to the public.
What makes a great RLD event?
RLD is a family-friendly festival that takes away barriers to learning.
Events are
- designed for parents/caregivers to learn alongside their kids
- neighborhood-situated therefore taking away travel considerations
- free of cost
- at days and times that are family-friendly
Make it clear
- what families will learn at your event
- what the hands-on activity(ies) will be
- how long your event is or if it is a drop-in/drop-out event
- if there is a theme that is eye-catching to families
- if there will be snacks or a meal provided for families
Elevating your event — put your audience first
- Know and define
- Your audience
- Event purpose
- Your resources
- Build skills where needed
- Be flexible
- HAVE FUN!
Is there funding for Event Hosts?
Each festival region has a limited amount of Event Host Awards (or mini-grants) available. Please visit your RLD region’s homepage to learn more about the funding opportunities and deadlines for your event. Please note that some regions have a rolling deadline beginning in December 2024 through February 2025.
What other resources will RLD Event Hosts receive?
For all Event Hosts, RLD provides website, marketing, and PR support. We are available to help you submit your event and provide suggestions to make your event as great as possible for families. RLD also provides regional marketing and PR support to draw attention to the festival as a whole. In addition to region-wide marketing and PR, RLD also provides Event Hosts with marketing/PR materials and templates to promote their own event to families.
