About this Event

Teens will discover the powerful connection between diet and emotions through fun activities, self-reflection, and crafting delicious, nutrient-packed breakfast bowls based on how they are feeling.

This 90 minute experience will be presented to 20 teens who participate in alternate school programming for emotional support and include the following:

  1. Introduction to the relationship between diet and mood.
  2. Collaborative research on Taki ingredients.
  3. A self-reflection activity designed to build student skill in identifying their emotions and moods and the importance of emotional regulation in the community and workplace.
  4. A hands-on activity with students building a nutritional breakfast bowl for themselves to support their individual needs as reflected in the activities above.

Students will have two artifacts at the completion of this workshop that can be used for career and work artifacts for the PA Dept of Education. First, the collaborative research activity will meet CEW Standard 13.3 B. Next, the self-reflection activity will meet the the CEW Standard 13.3 A.
