About this Event

Meet LIVE reptiles and amphibians native to PA, learn to identify frogs and toads by their call, examine touchable models/shells, and discover how to identify the venomous snakes in our area! Wear your “frog catching” boots and bring your net as we explore nearby wetlands.

Join naturalist April Claus and the Clarion Conservation District for a hands-on program from 7-9pm at the Beaver Creek Nature Area (located just off of Route 208 in Knox, PA). This program will introduce you to the native reptiles and amphibians of Pennsylvania! Learn to identify frogs and toads by their call, examine touchable models/shells, and discover how to identify the venomous snakes in our area. Meet some LIVE snakes, toads, turtles, and salamanders native to the northeast! Don’t forget to wear your “frog catching” boots and bring your net and a flashlight! We will explore the nearby wetlands to find some slimy and scaly critters to identify! Be prepared to get wet and dirty! An adult or guardian must accompany all children under the age of 16. Best for kids over age 7.
