About this Event

Participants will learn how animal teeth reveal their diet and then get hands-on with owl pellets to uncover real animal bones and identify what an owl has eaten.

Join us for a hands-on exploration of the natural world! This interactive event invites participants to uncover the secrets hidden in animal skulls and owl pellets to learn about diet, adaptation, and the food chain.

At the Skull Investigation Station, participants will examine real animal skulls and use clues from their teeth to determine whether the animal was a herbivore, carnivore, or omnivore. By identifying key features, such as sharp canines or flat molars, learners will develop critical thinking and observation skills as they analyze each specimen.

At the Owl Pellet Dissection Station, participants will become wildlife detectives as they carefully pull apart real owl pellets to discover what an owl has eaten. Using bone identification charts, they will match tiny bones to common prey while learning about predator-prey relationships and the role of owls in the ecosystem.

This engaging experience encourages curiosity about biology, animal science, and the natural world. Perfect for learners of all ages, this event provides a fun and educational opportunity to think like a scientist and uncover nature’s hidden stories!
