About this Event

The MINDDRIVE Invitational, the final race of the Kansas Electrorally spring season, challenges regional schools to compete in a one-hour racing event using student-designed and built electric race cars powered by a single battery pack.

The MINDDRIVE Invitational is an exhilarating full-day event at the historic National World War One Museum and Memorial, where over a dozen high schools and around 30 student-designed and built electric race cars come together for fierce competition. The day begins with an extensive pre-race check to inspect every car and register all teams and competitors, ensuring safety and readiness. At 11am, the first one-hour race heat kicks off, challenging teams to maximize the number of laps completed on a single battery pack. After a brief intermission, the second one-hour race heat starts at 1:30pm, providing a renewed opportunity for competitors to showcase their skills. Spectators enjoy multiple designated viewing areas around the track and can indulge in a variety of offerings from food trucks scattered throughout the venue. The event culminates with an awards presentation, where the team that completed the most laps is honored for their creativity, engineering prowess, and teamwork. This signature event in the Kansas Electrorally spring season not only highlights student innovation and competitive spirit but also brings the community together in a celebration of technology and education.
