About this Event

Experience a blend of technology and physical activity as families participate in a unique live robot TV show with CodeJoy followed by a tech-enhanced community walk at our 'Community Tech Trek' event.

Get ready for an action-packed adventure that’s part science fair, part scavenger hunt, and ALL FUN! Our ‘Community Tech Trek’ event blends technology and physical activity, creating a unique learning experience for 3rd-8th grade students and their families.

Prepare to be WOWED! The event kicks off with a LIVE robot TV show with CodeJoy, where you’ll learn to write code and actually control real robots! Experience the magic of bringing a live TV show to life, where your participation (and the code you write) becomes part of the performance! “This is better than recess!” said 4th grader Macayla, from Medford, NJ. “Every single one of my students was engaged and loving every minute! …They couldn’t believe it was live!” said Daniella Moya, a teacher from Riverside, CA.

But the excitement doesn’t stop there! Next, you’ll embark on a tech-enhanced community walk, creating simple step trackers and exploring your neighborhood like never before. Uncover hidden gems, track your steps, and discover the amazing connection between technology and your own backyard.

Please wear comfortable walking shoes, as we will be exploring the neighborhood on foot. Please bring a device (iPad, Chromebook, Labtop, phone). We will provide all other necessary materials.

Get ready for an unforgettable event that will spark curiosity, ignite a passion for STEM, and leave you with lasting memories! This is an opportunity to experience technology in a whole new way, connect with your community, and discover the endless possibilities of learning!
