Danica is a current senior at Beaver Area Senior High School. Aspiring to become a pediatric surgeon, she has immersed herself in the realm of science during her high school years. She serves on annual medical missionary trips to the outskirts of the Dominican Republic, bordering Haiti, and has written two Spanish children’s books on the importance of dental hygiene for the young children they serve. She is president and founder of Beaver’s first hard science club—chemistry club—in addition to her presidential leadership role in Beaver’s Debate Club and National Honors Society. She recently completed the highly prestigious Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University this past summer, which proved to be a catalyst for her future growth and learning. She also received the Junior Achievement 18 under 18 Award this past winter. Not only does she excel in her academic studies, she does well in her athletics as well. She is a 2x State Qualifier in Cross Country, 2x WPIAL Championships medalist, 3x MAC Championships top 15, and top varsity athlete all four years. She hopes to make a positive impact on all individuals she meets and strives to become the best version of herself that she can be.
