Dance In The Park

Families are invited to come dance in the park with Sarasota Contemporary Dance, as we share in a Creative Movement class and mini, outside performance from our training company, SCDE.

Come move, explore, and connect with Sarasota Contemporary Dance outside at the brand new Overtown Square Park! During this free event created for all ages, families will have the opportunity to take a Creative Movement dance class with SCD teaching artist Xiao-xuan Yang Dancigers. Through contemporary dance warm ups, creative play, and guided improvisation, Creative Movement will help students and their families channel energy and move their bodies safely through the space, while simultaneously developing motor skills, and rhythmic awareness. After the class, enjoy a small treat with your family as our training company, SCDE, dances through the park, and moves inspired by their surroundings in an exciting site-specific performance. This dance experience with SCD is sure to leave a smile on your faces, and your family feeling energized and connected!
