Join us for a joyful, hands-on community event where families, students, and local partners come together to celebrate kindness through interactive activities, service projects, and meaningful connections that strengthen our school and community.

Built on Kindness: Shaler Area’s 5th 143 Day of Kindness Event is back, and better than ever! Inspired by Fred Rogers’ use of “143” to say “I Love You,” this free, family-friendly celebration brings our community together for an unforgettable evening of kindness, connection, and fun.

Explore a vibrant Community Expo filled with local organizations offering resources, activities, and opportunities for children and families. New this year: Touch-a-Job! Kids can get hands-on with real tools, meet professionals from A.W. Beattie Career Center and the community, and start imagining their future careers through interactive exploration. It’s a can’t-miss experience designed to spark curiosity and excitement!

Enjoy live performances by Shaler Area music ensembles and celebrate the incredible talents of our students as they take the stage.

Then dive into a wide variety of activity stations, including LEGO building challenges, rock painting, positive yard sign creation, calming sensory bottles, and service projects that give back to others. Every activity is designed to be fun, meaningful, and rooted in the spirit of kindness.

Refreshments, including pizza, drinks, and snacks, will be available throughout the evening, making it easy for families to stay, explore, and enjoy all the event has to offer.

We’ll wrap up the night with an exciting, high-energy performance by Josh and Gab that will have everyone singing, moving, and celebrating together.
