Step into your future at Future-Ready Career Day at CCBC! Beaver County 11th-grade.
Students will participate in an interactive campus welcome and rotate through program exploration stations where they engage with faculty and staff through demonstrations and activities in high-demand fields like STEM, cybersecurity, process technology (PTEC), and mechatronics.
- STEM Programs, “See Biology in Action”: Students engage in applied STEM learning with hands-on activities that highlight how science and data connect to real-world problem solving in fields such as healthcare, technology, engineering, research, and advanced manufacturing, as well as transfer pathways to four-year institutions.
- Cybersecurity: Students learn how organizations protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and networks from disruption due to malicious activity, accident, or natural disaster. The program prepares graduates for entry-level roles such as intrusion detection analyst, network security analyst, security audit specialist, and risk analyst specialist, with an average starting salary of $55,000.
- PTEC (Process Technology): Students explore how process technicians support industries such as refining and manufacturing through safety-focused training, equipment maintenance, and the use of computerized systems to monitor and troubleshoot complex production processes. Graduates are prepared for roles as process operators or production technicians across sectors, including chemical, pharmaceutical, and energy industries. The average starting salary is $55,000, and many graduates exceed $100,000 per year.
- Mechatronics: Students experience how mechanical, electronic, and computer systems work together in modern automation. The curriculum introduces concepts such as fluid power, microcontrollers, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), preparing graduates for careers as robotics, automation, and field service technicians in advanced manufacturing. The average starting salary is $64,000.
Throughout the day, students will see biology in action through applied STEM activities, learn how cybersecurity professionals protect data and networks, explore how process technicians support industries like manufacturing and energy, and experience how mechanical, electronic, and computer systems work together in modern automation.
The experience concludes with a career fair featuring local workforce partners, where students can ask questions, explore career pathways, and learn about the education and training steps connected to jobs in their region. By combining hands-on learning, guided reflection, and direct connections with educators and industry professionals, Future-Ready Career Day helps students build career awareness, confidence, and a clearer vision for their future after high school.
