Deanne Magolis

Parents & Teachers Ambassador
Hometown: Indiana, PA

Deanne Magolis is a former news broadcaster who traded the newsroom for the classroom nearly 20 years ago and hasn’t looked back since. She currently teaches high school English at Indiana Area High School, where she enjoys helping students find their voice, sharpen their thinking, and maybe even appreciate a good book along the way.

Outside the classroom, Deanne stays busy coaching volleyball, reading, traveling, and attempting to keep her garden thriving. Whenever she gets the chance, she enjoys a quick escape to Pittsburgh to catch a concert, sporting event, or try a new restaurant.

At home, she and her husband are proud parents to two active kids—a senior son and a freshman daughter—so much of their free time is happily spent cheering from the sidelines at games and school events. Whether in the classroom, on the court, or with family and friends, Deanne believes life is best when it’s full, loud, a little busy, and shared with good people.
