FREE DJ Workshop with local electronic music artist Rob Pearson who will help you try DJ Decks, Mixing and Turntable Techniques!

Not tried your hand at DJing before? or have some experience and want to get to the next level?

Well now is your chance in a FREE, friendly and supportive group session with the help and expertise of local DJ and music producer Rob Pearson. DJing can be fun to try as a hobby, and if you ever want to go further it could even lead to a career in the music industry!

On the day we will have the decks ready for you to spin the platters, play songs and even try out some scratching and turntable tricks. We will show you how DJ equipment is set up and what is needed to start your own DJ journey using fun and FREE DJ apps. We will have Pioneer CD Decks and the latest Traktor Pro software all set up for you to try to see what you like using the most.

In this FREE 1 hr 45 mins workshop for Young People aged 14 to 18 we will cover some of the following:-

Counting beats and bars

Beat Matching

Cueing

Basic Scratching

Looping

Blending

Using the mic (Optional)

For Young People aged 14 to 18 (Check our other event listings for younger age groups)

All sessions are welcoming and inclusive, there is an emphasis on ‘no right or wrong’ and no previous musical experience is necessary. Rob will be on hand to assist your musical journey and let your creativity shine through.

You will be able to choose what equipment and techniques that you would like to try and won’t be put on the spot to perform in front of others. Our staff hold an advanced DBS certificate (formerly known as a CRB check) for working with young people.
