About this Event

Help create a YouTube video in a day! Transform books into characters, build a collaborative story, and bring it all to life through photography, drawing, and voice recording in this fun, hands-on creative workshop.

Help create a complete YouTube video in just one day!

Ever wondered what happens in a library after it closes? In this fun, hands-on workshop, we’ll imagine and create a short film about “living books” – and upload it to YouTube the very same day.

We’ll start with some simple storytelling activities, then turn hardback books into characters. Using plain dust jackets, we’ll decorate our “living books” with drawing and craft materials.

Next, we’ll work together to create a story about what our characters get up to at night in the library. Everyone can share ideas, help shape the story, and take part in recording the voice narration.

We’ll then bring the story to life by staging and photographing our book characters around the library – then create simple drawings to add to the visuals.

Finally, everything will be put together – photos, drawings, and audio – to make a finished video. And – ta-daa! – by the end of the day, we’ll have created and published our own short film on YouTube.

This workshop is open to anyone interested in stories, art, or making videos. No experience is needed — just bring your imagination and get involved!
