About this Event

Fifth grade students will go to the Middle School STEM lab for four-30 minute Earth and Space Science activities.

Pittston Area Intermediate Center Fifth grade students will go to the Middle School STEM lab to participate in a series of activities involving Earth and Space Science. They will make a sundial, use it to investigate the phenomenon of shadows and learn to tell time with the sundial.

They will make a constellation board to investigate the night sky, which they will be able to take home and use at night.

They will investigate the phases of the moon and model them using cookies and other common items.

They will make and launch straw rockets, then modify them to increase distance and accuracy.
