About this Event

Story Quilt: Threads of Our Community invites families to create individual art squares that celebrate their unique stories, which will be combined into a collaborative community quilt displayed at the library.

Story Quilt: Threads of Our Community is a meaningful, hands-on art experience where families create individual quilt squares that reflect their personal stories, traditions, and identities. Using fabric, paper, markers, paint, and a variety of craft materials, participants will design squares that represent who they are, what they love, or what makes their family unique. Once completed, all squares will be collected and assembled into a large, collaborative “story quilt” to be displayed at the library as a celebration of the diverse voices, backgrounds, and experiences that make up our community. This event is open to all ages and abilities and encourages creativity, cultural expression, and connection. Together, we will weave a beautiful reminder that every person’s story is an essential thread in the fabric of Montgomery’s community.
