LCSWMA’s 2026 School Tour Day at the Lancaster Waste-to-Energy (WTE) Facility invites school groups (7th grade and above) to experience the magic of turning everyday trash into clean, renewable electricity. Witness firsthand how your community’s waste is transformed into enough energy to power 25,000 Lancaster County homes! Dive into the world of science, technology, and sustainability, and imagine the exciting careers that could power your future. Don’t miss this chance to spark curiosity, ask questions, and see innovation in action!

FREE one-hour tours depart at 9 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2 p.m., and 2:30 p.m.

To participate in this tour, guests must be 12 years or older, able to walk short distances, and able to board a bus. Visitors are responsible for their own assistance, if needed. All guests must wear closed-toed shoes.

Seating is limited, and preregistration is required for this rain-or-shine event. You’ll receive an email ticket to bring along with you to the tour.

Parking and check-in will take place at Community Bible Church (331 Anderson Ferry Road, Marietta, PA 17547), where guests will board a bus for a driving tour of LCSWMA’s Lancaster WTE Facility. 

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled tour time.
