About this Event
Join us for a special afternoon at Rooted & Free Nature School as our K-8 grade students invite their families to experience their learning during our Forest Fridays program throughout the year!
Students will guide families through the different locations on camp, proudly sharing the skills they’ve developed, the projects they’ve created, and the knowledge they’ve gained through weeks of curiosity-driven, outdoor, and hands-on education.
During the showcase, families will have the opportunity to:
- Explore structures students designed and built in our nature play spaces
- See students demonstrate their fire-starting skills and discuss safety, responsibility, and technique
- Learn about winter seed sowing and how students supported plant life during the colder months
- Discover the aerospace learning experiences our middle school students engaged in through their partnership with the Civil Air Patrol
- Hear students reflect on problem-solving, teamwork, creativity, and perseverance
- And experience many other projects and skills that have emerged organically through their time outdoors
We invite families to come prepared to walk, explore, ask questions, and be inspired by the confidence and capability of our young learners. This is a meaningful opportunity to step into your child’s learning world and see firsthand how nature-based education nurtures independence, resilience, and wonder.
We can’t wait to celebrate this year of learning with you!
Visitors welcome to share in the celebration.
