Arts at the Academy offers families an opportunity for hands-on arts activities and immersion in various forms.
Step into a world of creativity and imagination at Arts at the Academy, a free community event hosted by Baden Academy Charter School on Saturday, May 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This year’s fairy tale theme, “Art Through the Looking Glass,” invites families to explore the magic of the arts through hands-on experiences, live performances, and creative exploration.
The event will feature a dynamic lineup of interactive art activities, STEAM challenges, and student musical performances, alongside a special appearance by local folk-fusion band Harmony Hot Haus. Guests can also enjoy a Spanish story time, marvel at the talents of a balloon artist and caricaturist, and view student art exhibits throughout the school.
One of the highlights of the day will be a series of mini-workshops led by artists from the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, including an energizing step dance lesson open to participants of all ages.
In addition, local vendors and artisans will be on-site offering unique goods and crafts for purchase, making this event a vibrant celebration of community and creativity.
Admission is free and the event is open to the public. Food trucks will be onsite for guests. For added convenience, free shuttle service will be available from the Baden Walmart parking lot throughout the event.
