Join us for a joyful, hands-on community event where families, students, and local partners come together to celebrate kindness through interactive activities, service projects, and meaningful connections that strengthen our school and community.

Built on Kindness: 143 Day of Kindness is a joyful, hands-on celebration inspired by Fred Rogers’ meaningful use of “143” to say “I Love You.” Hosted by the Shaler Area School District, this free, family-friendly event brings together students, families, educators, and community partners for an evening centered on kindness, connection, and belonging.

Guests can explore a lively Community Expo featuring local organizations that support children and families through educational programs, wellness resources, arts, athletics, and service opportunities. The evening will also showcase live performances by Shaler Area music ensembles, highlighting the power of the arts to build community and celebrate student voice.

Families can rotate through interactive activity stations including LEGO building challenges, rock painting, positive yard sign creation, calming sensory bottle design, and meaningful service projects that give back to others. Each experience is designed to spark creativity, collaboration, and empathy while bringing the spirit of “143” to life. Refreshments—including pizza, drinks, and snacks—will be available throughout the evening.

The celebration concludes with a high-energy performance by Josh and Gab, bringing the community together in music and joy. More than just an event, our 5th Annual 143 Day of Kindness is a shared commitment to building a culture where kindness is practiced, celebrated, and sustained—reminding every child and family that they are valued and loved.
