Step into a night of stars, science, and student discovery! From hands-on STEM activities to telescope views and student research, this event brings learning to life for all ages.
Celebrate curiosity and discovery at the Celebration of Student Research! Students from across the region in grades 6-12 will share astronomy projects created for PJAS, PRSEF, local science fairs, and for the joy of learning itself. Through posters, short talks, and small breakout conversations, young researchers will showcase their questions, discoveries, and learning process in an engaging, interactive setting.
Families, friends, and community members are invited to explore a historic space, meet student scientists, and take part in rich scientific discussions alongside professional astronomers from the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University. The evening will also feature hands-on STEM activities for younger learners, snacks, and—weather permitting—telescope viewing under the night sky. Join us to explore the universe together and experience learning in action!
