About this Event

Join us for an engaging event where attendees will explore the science of sustainability, discover the vital role of bees in our ecosystem, and even try their hand at queen bee instrumental insemination using state-of-the-art techniques in the Biology classroom.

Discover the fascinating world of bees and their essential role in promoting a sustainable future at “Pollinate Possibilities.” This event offers an interactive experience highlighting the innovative ways our school integrates sustainability education through its on-campus apiary. Participants will explore the science of beekeeping, learning about various types of beehives, including their design, purpose, and benefits to the environment.

One of the event’s highlights will be the opportunity to try instrumental insemination of queen bees, gaining hands-on insight into advanced beekeeping techniques in the Biology classroom. Guests will also learn how our students apply sustainable practices through the care of our bee colonies, helping to maintain healthy hives while supporting pollination in the surrounding ecosystem.

Participants will be provided with bee suits for an up-close look at the apiary, but those with bee allergies are advised to observe from a safe distance for their comfort and safety. This event is perfect for educators, families, and anyone passionate about sustainability, innovation, and the critical role of bees in our world.
