About this Event
Staffed by professional documentarians and conversation prompts, the public can come to the library to record a conversation with a loved one or a stranger. Participants will have access to their recording and visual art that they co-create on-site.
In collaboration with The Genesis Collective Media Institute and the History of Black Aliquippa Project, we’re inviting the community to join us at B.F. Jones Memorial Library for a unique storytelling and art experience. Participants can sit down with a friend—or even a stranger—and record a conversation about belonging, identity, everyday life, or personal history. Optional prompts will be provided to spark meaningful dialogue and reflection.
After the conversation, participants will collaborate on a piece of art inspired by their discussion. Each creation will become part of a “quilt” of artwork that will be displayed at the library, showcasing the voices and stories of our community. Participants will also receive a link to their recorded conversation to keep and share.
This free, public event is open to all ages and experience levels. Come connect, create, and celebrate the rich stories that make our community unique. The event will be promoted through social media, library signage, and the Beaver County Library System’s media channels—so bring your curiosity, your creativity, and your voice!
