Teens learn best when their learning is connected to their passions, desires and curiosities... Join us for a special Teen Choice to explore all of our Labs Kits, where there is something for everyone - from digital art and photography, to music, robotics, and more!
Since 2012, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh (CLP) has offered The Labs, an innovative service that provides teens with access to equipment, software and supportive staff in a welcoming learning environment with a focus on creation using technology.
Participants dive into hands-on arts and creative technology activities in this interactive Teen Choice experience, exploring passions and interests with a variety of creative software available on Teen Lab computers, including:
- Digital Art Kit – create content on provided iPads and Apple pencils.
- Stop-Motion Kit – create stop-motion animations by recording and editing videos.
- DSLR Camera Kit – use a high-quality camera to take amazing pictures and learn photography.
- Cricut Kit – create precision-cut intricate designs onto materials like paper, cardstock and vinyl
- … plus explore our Music Kit and Robotics Kit to produce music, program robots, and more!
This event is designed to be self-directed, giving teens the freedom to experiment, imagine, and create at their own pace while CLP Teen Staff are on hand to offer support, inspiration, and suggest activities. No prior experience is needed—just curiosity and creativity!
