About this Event

Join us for the June Harless Center's Cardboard Boat Regatta, where students work together to design, build, and race cardboard boats while families and the community cheer on creativity, teamwork, and STEAM exploration.

The June Harless Center’s Cardboard Boat Regatta is a joyful community event where participants design, build, and race boats made entirely from cardboard and tape. This hands‑on experience highlights creativity, teamwork, and the engineering design process as children imagine, plan, construct, test, and revise their ideas.

On event day, families, friends, and community members gather at the pool to cheer on young engineers as they launch their cardboard creations. Whether a boat glides smoothly or sinks with enthusiasm, each attempt is celebrated as part of the learning journey. The atmosphere is supportive, energetic, and full of laughter.

.

More than a race, the Cardboard Boat Regatta showcases the power of hands-on STEAM learning and gives children an opportunity to see themselves as thinkers, makers, and engineer
