About this Event

Join us at Northern Tier Library to welcome and learn about a very special guest: a real ALPACA... and learn how to use its fibers to weave, punch and make felt!

Our friends from The Crafty Alpaca will be joining us with one of their adorable alpacas for a special up-close meet-and-greet experience! Guests will learn all about these gentle animals, including how they are cared for and how their soft fiber is transformed into beautiful, usable materials.

Participants will explore a variety of hands-on fiber arts activities, including learning the basics of felt making, simple weaving, and felt punching using authentic alpaca fiber. Additional materials for knitting and crocheting will also be available for guests who would like to try their hand at these traditional crafts.

This interactive event is open to all ages, though some activities requiring more detailed handwork may be better suited for older children and adults. Come discover the art, science, and creativity behind alpaca fiber in this fun and educational experience!
