Understanding Roles

We created the Remake Learning Days toolkit to primarily support RLDAA regional leads and event hosts who are working on behalf of (or in collaboration with) a range of collaborators and stakeholders.

Though Remake Learning in the Pittsburgh region designates specific RLD functional roles (e.g., “Producer” or “Marketing Director”), the assets in this toolkit support the broad work of a generalized set of RLDAA stakeholders.

The four central roles among Remake Learning Days stakeholders are:

  • Regional Lead: A person who manages the Remake Learning Days project per region
  • Producer: A person who coordinates Remake Learning Days as a set of events that make up a festival in communities throughout a region
  • Marketing & PR Director: A person who coordinates Remake Learning Days-specific marketing, communications, and PR in the region
  • Event Host: A person who leads a Remake Learning Days event at their organization or at another venue/location and participates in the marketing, communications, PR, and attendance boosting for their event and the festival at large

The other roles supported by toolkit materials include:

  • National Producer: This person is a project management resource for regional leads and producers coordinating Remake Learning Days events in multiple areas or regions
  • National Marketing & Communications Director: This person is a resource for regional marketing & pr directors that are giving voice to Remake Learning Days events and festivals in multiple regions
  • Sponsor: An organization that the regional lead receives funds from, or in some other way supports Remake Learning Days
  • Planning Committee: Made up of individuals who support community and family engagement especially in marginalized and/or under-served  communities
  • Participant: Someone (e.g., youth: pre-K-12, parent, caregiver, family) who participates in a Remake Learning Days event
  • Media: People who (or organizations that) can share stories and information about Remake Learning Days before, during, and after events
  • Event volunteer: Someone who assists an event host at an event, such as by helping with venue, operations, surveying, and other participant logistics
  • Neighborhood navigator: Someone who builds neighborhood-level awareness about Remake Learning Days and, in particular, RLD events in or near people in that neighborhood whether the neighborhood be rural, suburban, or urban; or marginalized or under-resourced.
