Students in the Blue Hills neighborhood will ignite coding curiosity at a Scratch Workshop for 13-16 year-olds, which is the first in a continuing series of programs.
Embark on a captivating and coding at this Scratch Workshop designed exclusively for children ages 13 to 16 who live in the Blue Hills neighborhood. Held on consecutive Saturdays, this immersive event promises an exhilarating exploration into the world of programming through the user-friendly platform, Scratch.
The experience begins with a breakfast, orientation and guided practice and will continue twice a month through December 7. Sample sessions:
- Dive into the fundamentals of coding as our seasoned instructor introduces participants to Scratch, a visually engaging and intuitive programming language. Through hands-on activities and interactive tutorials, young minds will grasp the essentials of block based coding, cultivating program solving skills and logical thinking in a fun-filled environment.
- Building on the foundation laid earlier, attendees will delve deeper into Scratch’s advanced features, exploring concepts such as variables, loops, and conditional statements. The workhop takes a project-based approach, empowering participants to conceptualize and develop their own unique games or stories.
