The Great Wind Festival is for families to come outside, enjoy the weather and discover fun activities that involve wind energy, its power and the possibilities.
The Great Wind Festival will provide a whirlwind of activities for families with lots of hands-on experiences. After spending the winter months indoors, we will spend the day outside, celebrating the windy weather with wind-powered activities. This year the event is sponsored by the Leawood Lions Club, a local service organization helping hundreds of men and women since 1954 to promote the betterment of our community.
The updated scheduled activities include Kites ~ Paper Airplanes ~ an Aviation Simulator ~ multiple Rocket Launching activities ~ Kite flying and Kite making ~ Soda Geysers ~ Explode-a-Bags ~ Elephant Toothpaste ~ Hammer of Thor ~ Whirligigs ~ Rain Gutter Regatta ~ and a ~Photo Booth ~ and depending on the wind, a wind balloon.
