Fossil program involving indoor educational program followed by fossil hunting at the preserve's fossil pit.
Central PA Rock and Mineral Club’s Andrew Rockhound will be teaching us all about fossils found in Central PA. This indoor/outdoor experience will take part at two separate locations. We will start indoors in the auditorium of the Environmental Education Center of Montour Preserve. Andrew will lead an educational discussion focused on fossils and minerals found in our area. Participants will be able to see specimens and learn the basics of fossil hunting before heading out to our on site fossil pit.
While at the pit, Andew will be able to help people identify where to look and how to find fossils. He will also help identify any specimen found that day.
