Learners will choose between a musical theater or technical theater workshop session where they learn musical theater performance or technical theater and design elements. For the last 30 minutes, family and friends are invited to enjoy a short performance of the learners' work!
Learners age 8-18 are invited to Pittsburgh Musical Theater to experience a morning of musical theater and/or technical theater learning, culminating in a performance showcasing their skills for family and friends. Participants will choose between a musical theater or technical theater (must be 12-18) track upon arrival. The first 90 minutes of the session will be dedicated to learning material and musical theater skills, or the basics of sound design, lighting design, and technical theater. For the last 30 minutes, learners will showcase for family and friends who are invited into the space to enjoy the short performance. Musical theater track participants will perform the material they learned, and technical theater track participants will run sound and lighting equipment they designed for the performance.
