About this event

Spring is seed-starting time! Learn about the journey from seed, to seedling, to sapling, to tree, at this drop-in event at Tree Pittsburgh's riverside campus.

Plant a tree from seed at our nursery, to take home and grow. Then explore the growing forest along our riverside trail. Many of the trees started as seeds in our nursery. Can you guess their age? How can we tell the different trees apart? Use our scavenger hunt format as your guide to discovery.

Drop in at any time from 10am to 1pm with your little ones (saplings!) and visit our activity stations at your own pace.

Best for K-5. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Our trails are uneven, unpaved, and steep and narrow in places. Closed-toed shoes must be worn for safety. Sorry – no pets! Service animals are welcome.

For questions please call Maeve Rafferty at 412-781-8733 x 214 or email maeve@treepittsburgh.org

Please note – Tree Pittsburgh will be holding a Tree Adoption event at our campus at the same time as our Seed to Tree event. Separate registration is necessary for free trees. The best way to find out when and how to register for a Tree Adoption is to subscribe to Tree Pittsburgh’s monthly e-newsletter.
